IT Consulting & Client Growth Enabler (2020 - Present)
During the pandemic and after I focused on assisting other organizations digitally enable their business. By working as an IT Consultant and Program Manager I was able to lead clients to new revenue streams, higher profits and more efficient operations with less staff and/or remote team members.
Technical Enterprise Leader (2000 - 2020)
The majority of my career has been focused on leading IT Teams in small to medium sized businesses, allowing me to continue building my technical and leadership skills. By being hands-on, working alongside my teams it gave me deep insight into both the business needs and the technical problems faced when trying to accomplish business goals. This experience has led me to refine my ability to easily adapt and translate between the boardroom and the server-room.
Cutting Edge Technical Generalist (1995 - 2000)
During the DotCom Explosion / Implosion I worked on the ground floor of many amazing projects, the first hosted MS Exchange server, the first SQL Clusters, complex high-end geographic dispersed hosting solutions and personally supported sites aimed at teaching new developers how to write clean code and build functional web-applications. During this time I learned the value of calm troubleshooting, understanding the end goal vision before attempting to solve and the importance of setting stakeholder expectations before AND during the process.
Military Intelligence (1992 - 1998)
During my time in the Navy I was responsible to first understand and then brief a three-star admiral on what was important to him and his Area Of Responsibility. Knowing that the decisions I made effected an entire fleet was a sobering experience and taught me the value of taking my work serious.
